Reservations at Park in the Woods

Park in the Woods Recreation Center rents out all of its rooms and even its gym for birthday parties, meetings, weddings, and other special occassions.

To place a during-hours reservation, please visit us at the front desk. We can show you the rooms and further explain our policies and procedures. If you simply need more information, please call the Center at (214) 671-0218.

To place an after-hours reservation, please call the City of Dallas Building Reservations office at (214) 670-8740 (open weekdays from 9am-5pm). All after-hours reservations are subject to a $200 clean-up deposit (which is refunded if you leave your room clean and without damages). This is in addition to all after-hours registration fees.

Park in the Woods Recreation Center does not allow alcoholic beverages on the premises.

Full Gym

  • Description: An official sized gymnasium with six basketball goals, available for organized games, general play, or large parties. It can be divided in half by a curtain on request. Plastic floor coverings are also available upon request for reservations that have food or drink in the gymnasium.
  • Size: 8,582 sq. ft.
  • Occupancy Limit: 550
  • Special: The gym may only be rented for athletic events, and all rentals must be approved directly by Margaret Peters. Please contact her for details.

Half Gym

  • Description: Half the gym listed above, for those who do not need as much room.
  • Size: 4,291 sq. ft.
  • Occupancy Limit: 225

Small Room

  • Description: A small meeting room ideal for presentations, workshops, or birthday parties. Two are available for rental (rooms A and B). Room A has a screen for projection presentations.
  • Size: 968 sq. ft.
  • Occupancy Limit: 50
  • During Hours Cost: $22 per hour
  • After Hours Cost: N/A
  • Special: Only the large room is available for rental after hours. For the price of large room rental after hours, please see below.

Large Room

  • Description: A large room ideal for larger parties or meetings. It is composed of small rooms A and B without the dividing wall.
  • Size: 1,937 sq. ft.
  • Occupancy Limit: 100
  • During Hours Cost: $48 per hour
  • After Hours Cost: $75 per hour
  • Special: The after hours rental cost includes the kitchen. See below for details.

Kitchen

  • Description: A kitchen complete with refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and range, two microwaves, and an ice machine. It connects to both small rooms.
  • Size: 348 sq. ft.
  • Occupancy Limit: N/A
  • During Hours Cost: $12 per hour
  • After Hours Cost: N/A
  • Special: In order to rent the kitchen, you must also rent one other room. The kitchen is included in an after hours rental of the large room at no extra cost.

Courtyard

  • Description: A fenced in courtyard containing picnic tables, a barbecue grill, and a sand-filled volleyball pit. The courtyard is lighted, and there are outdoor electrical outlets available.
  • Size: 1,100 sq. ft.
  • During Hours Cost: $10 per hour
  • After Hours Cost: $25 per hour
  • Special: In order to rent the courtyard, you must also rent one room indoors.

Full Facility

  • Description: The full Park in the Woods facility or any combination of rooms therein.
  • Size: 15,000 sq. ft.
  • Occupancy Limit: 706
  • During Hours Cost: N/A
  • After Hours Cost: $121 per hour
  • Special: The full facility is only available for rental after hours. If you want both the gym and large room, this option will save you money and allow you to use even more rooms.
